Bates began his career as an intern for Parsons Capital Management in 2012 right before pursuing his MS in Finance. He returned to the company in 2016 after working in mergers and acquisitions at Capital Value Advisors, an investment bank in Denver. Prior to that, while attending graduate school, he worked as an investment analyst intern at Investment Management Associates. Bates operates out of our Denver office and brings a diverse skillset having background in both investment management and corporate transaction support. He is research-oriented and takes a comprehensive approach to investment selection. Bates graduated from the Pomfret School and earned both his BSBA in Business and his MS in Finance from the University of Denver. He currently serves on the investment committee for Gordon School and is the active treasurer of the Fishers Island Sportsman’s Club.
