John, a Certified Financial Planner™ professional with over 10 years of investment management experience joined Parsons Capital Management in January 2011. Prior to that, John provided portfolio management and financial planning services for clients of Slocum, Gordon & Company in Newport, RI. John graduated from the University of Colorado with a BA in Political Science and received his MBA from the University of Rhode Island. He completed the financial planning certification program at Bryant University. John serves on the board of the Providence Mutual Fire Insurance Company. He is treasurer of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Fishers Island, NY, and also serves on the endowment funds board of Central Congregational Church in Providence. John has served on the board of the Audubon Society of RI, where he chaired the investment committee, and as a trustee for Gordon School, where he served on its investment committee. John is a former president and current trustee of IGWE Trust and a member of the Financial Planning Association of RI.
